Since August 8, 2008
I want to keep track of how many books I read between now and when I graduate. I'm kind of stealing the idea from Natasha. I don't really want to set a goal for myself though because I always seem to set my reading goals too high and then get disappointed. Plus who knows how much time I'll have for reading once the school year starts.

And you ask me what I want this year
And I try to make this kind and clear
Just the chance that maybe we’ll find better days
Cuz I don’t need boxes wrapped in strings
And designer love and empty things
Just the chance that maybe we’ll find better days
So take these words
And sing out loud
Cuz everyone is forgiven now
Cuz tonight’s the night the world begins again
I need someplace simple where we could live
And something only you can give
And that’s faith and trust and peace while we’re alive
And the one poor child who saved this world
And there’s ten million more who probably could
If we all just stopped and said a prayer for them
So take these words
And sing out loud
Cuz everyone is forgiven now
Cuz tonight’s the night the world begins again
I wish everyone was loved tonight
And somehow stop this endless fight
Just the chance that maybe we’ll find better days
So take these words

Sammie I missed you at school today!! I hope you're better tomorrow!!!
Happy Bday Maija!!!
Happy Bday Maija!!!
She calls out to the man on the street
"Sir, can you help me?
It's cold and I've nowhere to sleep,
Is there somewhere you can tell me?"
He walks on, doesn't look back
He pretends he can't hear her
Starts to whistle as he crosses the street
Seems embarrassed to be there
Oh think twice, it's another day for
You and me in paradise
Oh think twice, it's just another day for you,
You and me in paradise
She calls out to the man on the street
He can see she's been crying
She's got blisters on the soles of her feet
Can't walk but she's trying
Oh think twice...
Oh lord, is there nothing more anybody can do
Oh lord, there must be something you can say
You can tell from the lines on her face
You can see that she's been there
Probably been moved on from every place
'Cos she didn't fit in there
Oh think twice...

10 Reasons Why Gay Marriage is "Wrong"
1) Being gay is not natural. Real Americans always reject unnatural things like eyeglasses, polyester, and air conditioning.
2) Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall.
3)
Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behaviour. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and
can sign a marriage contract.
4) Straight marriage has been around a long time and hasn't changed at all; women are still property, blacks still can't marry whites, and divorce is still illegal.
5) Straight marriage will be less meaningful if gay marriage were allowed; the sanctity of Brittany Spears' 55-hour just-for-fun marriage would be destroyed.
6) Straight marriages are valid because they produce children. Gay couples, infertile couples, and old people shouldn't be allowed to marry because our orphanages aren't full yet, and the world needs more children.
7) Obviously gay parents will raise gay children, since straight parents only raise straight children.
8) Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire country. That's why we have only one religion in America.
9) Children can never succeed without a male and a female role model at home. That's why we as a society expressly forbid single parents to raise children.
10) Gay marriage will change the foundation of society; we could never adapt to new social norms. Just like we haven't adapted to cars, the service-sector economy, or longer life spans
Please post this in your journal if you are for gay marriage.

I walked to the viewpoint and read my book and wrote some stuff so I just thought I'd post it in here...
"why would you illegalize something so beautiful?" I don't know and the more i think about it, the more i realize how much hardship there really is for gay people in society. Before i didn't understand why some people are afraid of being gay and hate it so much but now i understand why. this world is so messed up - what if homosexuality becomes illegal? then where would i be and others like me? thoughts like that are what scare me, make me angry. no one should have the right to decide who i love, who i'm with, but me. it's unfair that a few people have all the control over everyone else. and i know that a lot of this goes on because straight people are scared of gay people. i wish i knew why this is so. they say it's because of the bible or because it's just plain wrong but that's all bullshit. they have no valid reasons. sometimes i think it's because they're afraid of change, afraid of people who are different, but thinking and feeling that way won't get you anywhere because changes are always happening and no two people will ever be the same. everyone is different whether they're gay or not. sometimes i think if they just gave us a chance and took the time to get to know us that things would be different. that they'd think and feel differently, but maybe no, maybe it's just narrow mindedness that can never be changed - and that's scary. hate against gays is bad enough, who knows what could happen next.

"EMP guitars"
We just went to Costco and I got a new stereo.
I think my privacy means more to me than opening myself to people so I think at least for a while I'm going to start locking my journal again.
I left my cell in my mom's car...shit,...haha
Today is going to be an awesome day. The weather is perfect, i get to have the colours changed in my braces (it may sound like I'm being sarcastic about it being a good day right now, but I'm really not kidding). Then I get to see Deidre...and have a few hours of free time...haha I can't believe I'm so busy that I've started having "free time". And then...I didn't even know this until my mom brought it up this morning because of the weather but I'm going to see Michael and Sam and their families this evening because we're having a barbeque.

* tired * I think thats all I have to say this morning...I just got up and I went to bed around 12:30. It was actually amazingly easy to get out of the parking lot. I called Em while we were at the concert and they were there too so I met up with her and Rianna and went and sat with them and Colin and Tristan for a while...it was a lot nicer than sitting with my dad and they were on the lawn...but then when Coldplay started I went and sat with my dad. anyways yea the concert was pretty school...don't know what else to say...i have an ortho appt. in 2hours...
- Mood:
not really awake yet - Music:none... "be my escape - relient k" stuck in my head...
godamnit. I just typed my rant about the center school but it didn't post. I don't feel like typing it again but anyways i fucking hate the fucking center school.
I can't find my Dubrovnik keychain...it's not with my key like it normally is...good thing I have my key...I looked on the porch and my keychain isn't there...and for some reason it feels really special...I'm kind of worried that it might be at the house of the people I babysat for yesterday - I'm going to call them. oh shit, i have more to say but i just realized that I really have to get out of here. long story short - I'm afraid the little girl may have taken it out of my bag.
MY schedule for this week:
